Zone diamond crystals from the Arkhangelsk tube (Arkhangelsk diamondiferous province, Russia), pp. 26 – 32

We studied a representative collection of cubic and close-up diamond crystals with a zonal structure from a tube of the Arkhangelsk deposit named after M.V. Lomonosov Arkhangelsk diamondiferous province. The mineralogical description of the collection diamonds is carried out, as well as the study of the features of the internal structure on polished crystals by the methods of color cathodic luminescence (CCL) and infrared Fourier spectroscopy (ICSF). Several types of diamonds have been identified, the interpretation of the revealed zonality of which is given from several genetic positions. читать далее...

On Late Barium Mineralization in Iyolite-Urtites of Mount Poachvumchorr of the Khibiny Massif (Kola Peninsula) and the Processes of Its Formation, pp. 56 – 63

For some alkaline-ultrabasic rocks of the Khibiny massif — ijolite-urtites, localized at the foot of the town of Poachvumchorr at a depth of about 250–280 m, an association of high-barium minerals was discovered. Among them, a number of rare minerals have been identified: arctite Na5BaCa7 (PO4) 6F3, hanneshite (Na, Ca) 3 (Ba, Sr, REE, Ca) 3 (CO3) 5, bussenite Na2Ba2FeTi [Si2O7] (CO3) (OH) 3F and phase close in composition to bussenite. An additional study showed the alleged absence of carbon (CO3 groups) in it and, probably, a higher fluorine content. Perhaps this phase is a highly fluorine-free carbonate analogue of bussenite. An analysis of the composition, form of manifestations, morphology of the listed minerals and their relationships with earlier phases suggests their formation at the late stages of mineral formation. читать далее...

Comparison of the mineralogy of the volcanic deposits Radka, Chelopech, Elshitsa (Bulgaria) and Lebedinoe deposit (Central Aldan, Russia), pp. 64 – 70

The formation of ores in the volcanogenic deposits of Radka, Chelopech, Elshitsa (Bulgaria) and the plutogenic deposit Lebedinoe (Central Aldan) took place under similar geological conditions. The rare metal mineralization is typical of the Radka deposit, and mainly tellurium minerals are present on Yelshitsa, while the mineralization of Chelopech and Swan includes minerals of both rare metals (V, Ge, Ga, In) and tellurium. The Radka deposit is characterized by a deeper erosion section than Chelopech and Swan. In Jelsica, only the zone closest to the surface has been studied and, therefore, studied. This allows us to conclude that it is possible to find minerals Ge, Ga, In, known on Radka, at deeper horizons of the Lebedinoye and Elshitsa deposits. читать далее...

Complex Uranium Oxides in Uranium Ores, pp. 71 – 83

In nature there are those containing U4 + U6 + or only U6 + titanates. The characteristic physical, chemical and optical properties are described for them, their role in the formation of uranium ores is revealed. The most common - brannerite - is divided into thorium (up to 30% Th) and thorium-free (0.0n% Th and lower) in composition. In most of the 12 mineralogical types of ores in Russia and related countries, as well as in conglomerates of Canada and Brazil, it and other titanates are ore-forming minerals. The presence of nanosized orthobrannerite in uranium ores Druzhnoye on Aldan (RF) was revealed. U4 + molybdates have little effect on the formation, composition and quality of uranium ores. Betafite, uranium-containing microlite and pyrochlore are common in carbonatite ores, from which uranium was recovered as an associated element. It should be considered promising to be involved in the development of large complex carbonatite ores in Russia. читать далее...

New Data on the Phase Composition in the Central Part of the Cu-Fe-S System, pp. 85 – 91

To determine the features of the formation of phase equilibria during magmatic crystallization, with chalcopyrite CuFeS2, isocubanite (cubic fcc cubanite) CuFe2S3, talnachite Cu9Fe8S16, moiukite Cu9Fe9S16 and heikokite Cu4Fe5S8, the phase compositions of the central part of the Cu – Fe – S – 45 system were studied: Cu / Fe = 1.44–0.25. The synthesized phases have a variable composition. The composition intervals established in them (with respect to the Cu / Fe ratio) for tetragonal chalcopyrite (1.03–0.67), isocubanite (0.61–0.39) and cubic pc heikokite (0.92–0.68) significantly differ from the Cu / Fe ratios in formulas of the corresponding minerals. The composition of moiukite with Cu / Fe = 1.04–0.93 lies on the equilibrium line of bornite – moiukite – cubanite, which separates the regions of chalcopyrite and haykokite phase associations. The crystallization region of iron-enriched chalcopyrite (Cu / Fe = 0.99–0.67) decreases with increasing melt cooling rate. Chalcopyrite solid solution (Cu / Fe = 1.03–0.67) crystallizes in a cubic pc form from melts with sulfur content <48 at.% S. читать далее...

Зональность и секториальность кристаллов шерла из пегматитов Ильменских гор на Урале, стр. 122 - 126

The shape, color, and composition of zonal-sectorial tourmaline crystals of a number of Dravite-Reindeer-Sherl and Reindeer-Sherl from the late granite pegmatites of the Ilmen mountains are studied. Sherls of different veins differ in iron content f = Feot ./ (Feot. + Mg). In the non-amazonite pegmatite mines 232, the central and middle zones of the ridge growth have f = 0.67–0.74, and the peripheral ones — 0.83–0.85. Sherl bezamazonitovogo topaz-beryl mine 196 and amazonite pegmatite mines 112 and 270 does not contain Mg, but is relatively enriched in Mn. The different coloration of the same-age (synchronous) zones of different pyramids of sherl growth is due to both a different iron content and a difference in the contents of Al, Mg and Mn. читать далее...
